Master of Physical Therapy (MPT), Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin)
Lisa Ruggles achieved her Master of Physical Therapy degree from UBC, after completing a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology also at UBC. She holds Level 1 certification in orthopaedic manual therapy and has also completed Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Level 1 and 2. Lisa is a certified mat Pilates instructor. Lisa enjoys continuing to advance her education and is currently working towards her certificate from Sports Physiotherapy Canada.
Lisa has worked with the UBC Thunderbirds Men’s Rugby team since 2012 and has worked her way up to head athletic trainer. She has been a part of the medical staff for several events, including the Canadian Club Rugby Championships, Provincial Rugby Championships, Big West Volley Fest, BC Soccer Youth Provincial Programs, and BC Wheelchair Tennis tournaments, and is always in search of new opportunities with various sports. In addition to volunteering and working with athletes, Lisa also has volunteer experience with spinal cord injury and geriatric populations, and worked as a kinesiologist with clients of all ages and abilities.
Lisa grew up in Langley participating in gymnastics before turning her attention to dance (ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary) to compete. She is very excited to be partnering with a local cheer and dance club to bring some of her attention back to her original passions. When Lisa isn’t at the clinic, she enjoys staying active at the gym or in the dance studio, and exploring the ocean through scuba diving.
Lisa is available at our Panorama Clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
