Physiomoves is now offering Virtual Care to all those patients who are interested and appropriate.

What is Virtual Care?

Virtual Care is the use of communication technology to allow you and your physiotherapist to connect via video conferencing to receive physiotherapy services when an in-person visit is not possible. Virtual care is also known as telehealth or telerehabilitation.


Benefits of Virtual Care

Virtual care sessions are useful for those patients needing consultation with a physiotherapist regarding:

  • Injury diagnosis (where possible)
  • Pain and symptom management
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation guidance
  • Home exercise prescription
  • One-on-one exercise and physical activity guidance and progression
  • Education and advice regarding self-care and ergonomics

Privacy and Safety

Physiomoves therapists are currently set to use Zoom https://zoom.us for Virtual Care as it meets all the privacy / security / compliance requirements for Virtual Care in BC. Your sessions will not be recorded. Your therapist will require that the location where you receive care is safe and that procedures are in place to ensure the availability of help in the event of an emergency.


Physiomoves Approach to Virtual Care

Each Virtual Care session will last up to 45 minutes. Our private rates will remain the same. Where possible, we will directly bill your insurance provider and follow-up by phone within 72 hours to collect any remaining balance. Providers that currently pay for Virtual Care include Great West Life, Sunlife, Medavie, ICBC (when deemed appropriate), and WSBC (when deemed appropriate). We will keep you posted as the list of insurers grows.
